Jones named 91短视频 Business Student of the Month

Jill Jones has been selected as Mid-Plains Community College鈥檚 Business Student of the Month for April.
She chose 91短视频 because the Ogallala Community Campus is close to home and as a full-time working professional, the distance learning options offer flexibility.
鈥淢y husband graduated from 91短视频 and spoke very highly of the supportive environment, both the teachers and students truly care about each other,鈥 Jones said.
The business department faculty nominated Jones (who goes by Jing, her given Chinese name) for the Student of the Month recognition.
鈥淛ing is a dedicated student and works diligently. It cannot be easy with English as her second language, but Jing does not let this discourage her. Jing comes to class eager to learn and is always so gracious. She strives hard to succeed,鈥 Business Instructor Angie Chittick said.
After earning her associate degree this summer, Jones plans to continue her education and become a certified public accountant.
鈥淓ver since I was a child, I dreamed of becoming an accountant,鈥 Jones said. 鈥淚鈥檝e always loved numbers, the way they fit together, tell a story and help people make smart decisions. For me, business and accounting aren鈥檛 just about math; they鈥檙e about honesty, clarity and helping organizations run better.鈥
Her advice to incoming business students is to stay organized and not be afraid to ask for help.
鈥淚f you find the topic difficult, that doesn鈥檛 mean you can鈥檛 do business. It just means you are learning and getting better. Every hard thing you get through makes you stronger,鈥 Jones shared.
Jones noted that being a full-time employee and student at the same time is not easy but is worth it.
鈥淚 hope my story encourages other non-traditional students, especially those from other countries or those who work full-time, to never give up on their dream,鈥 Jones said. 鈥淵ou don鈥檛 have to be the fastest learner, you just must be willing to try, to ask for help and to keep going.鈥
Studying in a second language comes with many challenges Jones said, and the nomination has proven that hard work pays off regardless of where you come from or how many extra hours you need.
鈥淚t gives me confidence that I belong here, and it motivates me to keep pushing forward,鈥 Jones said. 鈥91短视频 has given me a second home, and I will always be thankful for that.鈥
